UniFi Protect Application Update 5.0.33-5.0.034

UniFi recently released an update to UniFi Protect bringing the long awaited ONVIF protocol, which allows for support of non UniFi cameras. Here are the release notes for the update.

  • Added support for adopting third-party cameras that use the ONVIF protocol.
  • An ONVIF-supported camera with the feature turned on needs to be plugged into the network.
  • Go to Protect settings and activate “Discover Third-Party Cameras”.
  • Added the ability to archive to Dropbox.
  • Added support for Device Tags.
  • Powerful camera grouping feature, that works across the whole platform
  • Added Storage Manager in Settings.
  • Choose how long to keep High-Quality footage in storage.
  • Reducing the High-Quality recording period will free up space for Low-Quality footage thus giving you the option to choose a storage strategy that fits your use case.
  • Added support for pairing chimes to multiple doorbells.
  • Added the ability to restore stacked setup backups on non-stacked consoles.
  • Improved the recording service.
  • More efficient recording engine with higher resiliency 
  • This feature reduces system load and improves console resiliency.
  • Updated the bundled Camera FW to 4.72.36.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause losing AI event settings after restoring backups.
  • Fixed an issue where users with custom full permissions couldn’t see paired doorbell settings.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the UP-Sense battery level to be always 50%.
  • Fixed an issue where Smart Detection events were triggered at the end of the event.
  • This improves the use of Alarm Manager and resolves an issue with third-party integrations.
  • Fixed an issue where users still had limited permissions after giving them Full Management in rare cases.
