Verizon’s mobile network experienced widespread outages on Monday, affecting thousands of customers across the United States. The issues began around 10 am ET and persisted throughout the day, with many users reporting difficulty making or receiving calls, sending texts, and accessing data.
According to reports from Verizon’s own website and social media channels, the company acknowledged that its network was experiencing technical difficulties in several states, including California, Texas, and Florida. Customers in these areas were advised to restart their phones and try calling their carrier again if the issues persisted.
Verizon attributed the outages to a “technical issue” with its 5G network, which is still rolling out across the country. The company promised that it was working to resolve the problems as quickly as possible and had increased staff on hand to help affected customers.
The outage did not appear to be widespread, with many users able to access basic services such as Wi-Fi and text messaging despite the issues with voice calls and data. However, for those who relied heavily on mobile connectivity, the disruptions were significant.
Verizon’s outage comes at a time when the company is facing increasing competition in the US wireless market from other major carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. The outages may have raised concerns among customers about Verizon’s ability to provide reliable service.
